The Golf Course
At 4,111 yards from the back tees, this par 61 track is the longest and most challenging executive golf course in New England. It also might be the most beautiful, as the course winds through the Stearns family's 100 year-old, actively maintained cranberry bogs. The course has received rave reviews from golf writers, pros, superintendents, and everyday players for its natural design and feel. With space somewhat limited on the 116 acre site, great lengths were taken to make sure the holes are varied, from the wide open links feel of the first hole to the tree-lined corridor of the 8th hole, and to make sure that golfers would have to hit every club in their bags. Above all, Southers Marsh features a relaxed, fun-oriented atmosphere where everyone always enjoys themselves. Please come check it out for yourself.

Take a tour of the course with owner-superintendent Willie Stearns, as he took his camera with him early one morning. Keep in mind these photos were taken in mid-August 2005, and no rain had fallen since the end of May, except for one thunderstorm in July. All photos are unedited.

Cranberry Harvest - How It Works
People are fascinated by the unique process of how the berries get from the vines at Southers Marsh to Ocean Spray for processing.
We have renovated 10 of 32 acres of cranberries at Southers Marsh, and upgraded to the latest vine varieties. It is quite the process.
Construction Photos
In the process of our website overhaul, we debated removing this portion of the website. Entering our tenth season, it no longer seemed that relevant. However, reviewing the photos one last time brought back so many memories of what it took to make this course a reality, we agreed that we should leave them on the site even if we were the only ones who ever looked at them. We've come a long way.

The Working Series includes photos taken between May and December of 2000 and focuses on members of our crew in action around the course and clubhouse. There are 16 photos, sequenced in no particular order. Many are silly.
Course Construction: The Landscape
The Landscape Series is sequenced chronologically, and includes photos taken between May and October of 2000. These photographs focus on the course landscape itself, and depict several of the holes at Southers Marsh in various stages of development.
The Clubhouse Series is sequenced chronologically and follows progress made in the construction of our 3200 square-foot clubhouse. The series begins with photos taken of the site measuring process in late 2000.
